I’m Jesus “Jesucio” Martinez, a composer, producer, audiovisual artist and mix engineer, working across music, moving image and creative production, from my own projects to collaborations with artists, filmmakers and creative teams. My role changes depending on what the work needs. I like getting involved early, when an idea is still finding its shape, but I’m equally comfortable taking something that already exists and figuring out how to make it feel more like itself.
What I Do
Production
I work with artists to develop tracks, records and musical ideas from their first sketches through to finished work. That can mean arrangement, sound selection, recording, programming, editing, sound design or building something entirely from the ground up. Sometimes the most important production decision is knowing what not to touch.
Sound Design
I create sound and kits/libraries working with synthesizers, effects, samples, loops, recordings and layers of texture to create sounds that give a track its own character and physicality. It might mean designing a single sound, or building an entire sonic world around a song or project.
Songwriting
I collaborate with artists on songwriting, co-writing, toplining, arrangement and the parts of a song that are difficult to define until they start taking shape.
Composition
I create original music and sound for moving image, film, installations, dance, theatre, performance and other forms that need music to expand the expression of the work.
Mixing
I mix to a high standard, with an emphasis on space, dynamics and feeling. Volume and polish are tools I reach for when a track calls for it, not a default I chase for the sake of a trend. The work tells me what it's trying to become, and the mix follows that.
Audiovisual
I work across sound and image, developing and producing creative ideas in the forms of video, films, immersive installations, games, AR/VR/XR and beyond.
Creative Development
Some projects arrive before they have a clear category. I like that stage. I can work with artists and creative teams to develop an idea, find its language and figure out what it needs to become. Some of what's above I can also do without my name on it. If a project needs work that stays uncredited, I can accommodate that too.

How I Work
I don’t believe in a fixed formula.
Every project arrives with its own language, and my role can change depending on what it needs. Sometimes I’m producing. Sometimes I’m designing sounds, writing, composing or mixing. Sometimes I’m helping an idea find its shape before we even know what the finished thing is.
I like experimentation, but I’m equally interested in restraint, and in working well within the deadlines and budgets that shape most projects. I care about the details, but I don’t want the details to get in the way of the feeling.
OI Studio is where that practice opens outward, a place for working with other people, developing ideas and making things that don’t necessarily fit inside a single discipline.
The best collaborations usually leave some room for something unexpected to happen.
