Biography

The New Ways is the alias of Shelbric Fuller, producer, DJ, and founder of Dysfunct Records. His work lives in the space between motion and reflection, shaped less by genre than by feeling. Twenty years in, starting inside house and techno before pushing past what those forms were built to hold, Fuller has settled into a philosophy he calls metamodernism: a refusal to choose between earnestness and detachment, between the physical pull of the dancefloor and whatever is happening underneath it. That philosophy shows up in who he chooses to work with. His remix catalogue includes Erykah Badu, Stephan Nero, Future//Films, Janae Catt, and Destin Markland, each pulling his sound somewhere it hadn't been before. He's also part of the Kneaded Pains roster, alongside running Dysfunct Records, the label he built to give adventurous electronic music room to exist without compromise. Current The Testament, his forthcoming EP, arrives September 3, 2026 via Dysfunct Records, led by the single "Inconsequential." It picks up where The Danceables Collection (2010–2024), his fourteen-year retrospective, left off, less a look back this time than a record of exactly where he stands now. His remix LP The Warsaw Variations (OI Edition) was pressed as a limited clear vinyl edition by Outburst Intervals in July 2026 and sold out. His original track "B-Side," first heard on The Danceables Collection, receives a Future//Films rework on IONIC, out September 22, 2026. Asylum, his first EP-length release on Outburst Intervals, follows soon after.
